For Platinum you need 100% district completion which requires finding all 160 collectibles. TR88 get marked when unfogging the map (except Spider-Bots) so they are easy to find. The map gets unfogged when reaching District Completion Level 2 (from finding Collectibles) or going everywhere manually to unfog a radius around you. All of the quest-related trophies come from the story and district completion.

But from a project this obviously big and expensive, it all feels disappointingly undercooked. Instead, Spider-Man 2 plumps for a pretty confused take on the now venerable black suit/Venom’s origin storyline. It’s mashed together with an uncharacteristically large-scale invasion of New York by Kraven the Hunter (seeking worthy super-powered prey) and a tangle of other subplots and returning villains. The plot points are outlandish, the themes muddy, and Miles doesn’t really have enough to do. None of that’s necessarily a dealbreaker, though—the real problem is the characters.

At Harry’s insistence, Peter destroys the symbiote and frees Harry from its control, but renders Harry comatose. If the hit doesn’t kill the enemy it won’t count towards the trophy. It’s best to weaken the enemies beforehand, or focus on enemies that die in one hit, or spam all abilities in quick succession to wipe out bigger groups. They are unlocked automatically from story progress (unmissable) and by buying them from Peter’s skill tree. Peter takes the symbiote to Oscorp to destroy it, but a desperate Harry intercepts him and reclaims it, transforming into a monstrous creature. After slaughtering Oscorp staff trying to remove the symbiote from him, the symbiote-induced Harry escapes into Times Square, where he defeats several of Kraven’s Hunters before overpowering and killing Kraven himself. The symbiote convinces Harry to “heal the world” by infecting everyone on Earth with symbiotes, starting with New York. Dubbing themselves “Venom”, Harry and the symbiote transform Mary Jane into Scream, but Peter helps her break free after battling and reconciling with her.

But out of this expansive rogues gallery, Venom is the magnum opus that reprises every emotional note the rest of the game has played. Spider-Man 2 foreshadows the looming threat he poses over dozens of its 31 main story missions. Thankfully, you’ll have massively-enhanced gadgetry and powers by the time you finally face him. Spider-Man 2 (PS5) brings back some of the old suits from the previous two games including news suits and outfits for this sequel from vintage suits to what-if scenario costumes. Movement is handled very similarly to the previous games in the series.

That’s not to say there aren’t benefits to taking a sneaky route, though, especially when you’re playing as Miles and using his invisibility power to quietly take out enemies. There are many perch takedown possibilities offered and new toys to play with too, such as the Web Line, which allows you to create your own highwires over your enemies to prey on them from above. It’s a fun tool that allows you to reshape the tightly designed arenas into a battlefield more in your favour, and in doing so, redecorate the room with web-wrapped people piñatas. On the other hand, much like combat, stealth isn’t a far cry from the many warehouse encounters you’ll have played in the previous games, as you clear out enemies using largely the same techniques. If you’re a fan of Peter Parker, Miles Morales and the entire Marvel’s Spider-Man video game lore, then you’ve likely been waiting for this moment ever since you finished playing the previous games in the franchise. Or perhaps you haven’t gone web-slinging through New York City and now that you have a PS5, you’re ready to pull down the Spidey mask and help protect New York City?

Marvel’s Spider-Man shows a more experienced Peter Parker than we usually see, as he’s been Spider-Man for around 8 years already at this point. Still, while he may have mastered his fighting skills, Peter still struggles to balance his personal life and his life as a crime-fighter. The book leads directly into the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man, first introducing Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, as he returns to New York, only this time he’s built himself a pretty sturdy reputation as an altruistic entrepreneur and philanthropist.
